The Flip HD Camcorders Review

I used to work for Cisco and with my five year work experience I have evolved from being a complete technology and computer ignoramus to a networking expert who can troubleshoot various networking and Cisco devices even with my eyes closed. Flip HD camcorders are no strangers to me.

Most people love to record every milestone in their lives hence the popularity of digital camcorders and cameras. Flip video is no exception as it is high definition camera recorder. What makes them more popular are their affordable prices compared to other brands plus their funky and exciting designs- you can even design your own Flip video camera.

Flip Camcorders were created by Pure Digital Technologies that Cisco bought in early 2009 and comes in three variants- Slide HD, Mino HD and Ultra HD.

The Slide HD is the most expensive of the three variants as it usually retails at around $229.99. It comes with a 16 GB memory and a record time of 4 hours. It has video quality of 720p HD/ 30 fps and has 2x digital zoom lens. It uses internal lithium-ion rechargeable and has a 3” widescreen for viewing. It comes with a 400 x 420 resolution for the screen and a 1280 x 720 resolution for its video quality. It has a touch sensitive capacitive buttons for the interface. The Flip Slide HD comes in white though like the rest of the Flip products, you can even have your own design.

The Flip Mino HD has both the 4GB and 8GB units. It has basically the same features of the Slide HD though it has image stabilization and comes in both white and black colors and its 2” LCD screen comes with 320 x 240 resolutions. Its frame rate though is 60 frames per second and retails at $179.99.

The cheapest of the lot is the Flip ULTRA HD camcorder that costs $149.99 and comes in three colors- white, blue and magenta. It uses 2 AA batteries inclusive when your purchase the product or you can purchase the Flip Video AA Battery Pack. The 8 GB Ultra HD has a Flip Port.

Organizing, creating and sharing of videos and pictures in social networking sites is also possible with the trade mark Flip HD camcorders share software which can also be upgraded to newer versions of the firmware.

Inclusions of these products usually include the video camera, user manual, wrist strap and battery packs and soft protective case. Additional accessories can also be bought like the Bower Wide Angle Lens, Flip Video Action Tripod, Ikelite Underwater Housing and Flip Video Power Adapter. If your in the market for a high definition camcorder then look no further than a Flip camcorder.
